Features Overview
Joanna Gaines is a well-known designer, who many people specifically recognize from HGTV’s Fixer Upper or know as the owner of company Magnolia alongside her husband Chip. She’s a talented woman who does many things and has inspired me for years. One of the many talents on Joanna’s resume is author, and the latest design book she published I love and constantly recommend.
In Homebody: A Guide To Creating Spaces You Never Want To Leave, Joanna explains in detail how to design and decorate a space that’s authentic to your personal style. She covers a different room in each chapter, sharing her tips on how to turn each one into an oasis in a comprehensive way. Along with offering a lot of great ideas, she shares plenty of photos showcasing how you can turn her ideas into a real design.
I admire Joanna because she’s not only creative, but she also designs with a budget conscious mind. Designs you’ve seen by her and her husband on Fixer Upper, you’ll see on her social media, and read in her books aren’t unattainable to people without a big budget like you or me. No matter what style suits you, Joanna has inspirational ideas for everyone and tons of them are in this book. Page after page, you’ll find yourself dreaming of how to make big changes to your space without breaking the bank. You may do more than dream and put some of Joanna’s advice to use in some of your own spaces, like I have.
What I love most about this book is that there is so much depth to it. This isn’t just a book with a lot of pictures and little explanation. Joanna teaches you about décor and design through as you read. I really enjoy that because I love learning new things. She made sure to write in a way that anyone can understand, not just people in the décor or design profession, and I also enjoyed that.
Whether you’re trying to make a house feel like home, are looking to redecorate a room, or just want to gain some knowledge on designing, Homebody is a must read!
